Impressive yet low effort — a virtually no-cook recipe that EVERYONE loves.

The world is on fire — literally and metaphorically.

Between the massive corporate layoffs, global tariffs and stock market volatility, many of us are feeling anxious about rising costs and declining wealth.

Instead of hitting the bottle to numb out, I’d like to offer you a more strategic way to self-soothe.

Not with fear or scarcity. But with clarity and through nourishment.

Let’s focus on what we can control: our daily choices, where we spend our money, and how we take care of ourselves and each other when things feel shaky.

I’m calling it a Rebellious Reallocation — a protest in the form of presence. A values-driven audit of where your energy, attention, and dollars go.

Because while we may be heading toward a recession, one thing’s for sure:

We still need to eat.
We still deserve to feel good.

“This isn’t about scarcity — it’s about sovereignty. Let’s find ways to wake up nourished, supported, and connected, no matter what the headlines say.”

When the world feels upside down, our first instinct is to react — to death-scroll, comment, consume. It’s a way to do more and feel less.

But, with a calm nervous system and a clear plan, frustration becomes fuel for meaningful action without having to scream into the Meta void.

We can be rebellious without being reckless. For $5/month I show you all the ways to optimize your health and joy in this newsletter.

Here are a few of my favorite ways to rethink spending — so your dollars reflect your values and support your well-being.

Ditch the Door Dash

  • Take-out is convenient, but it’s often overpriced and underwhelming. Redirect those funds toward a beautiful meal at your favorite restaurant instead.

Spend on Quality Protein

  • This isn’t the place to skimp (if your budget allows). Protein is the foundation of real nourishment — it builds strength, steadies blood sugar, and sustains energy.

  • Subscription services offer excellent value:

    • Seatopia Fish (CELIACHEN20)

    • Pasture Project Chicken (CELIA15)

    • Butcher Box

Buy Wellness Staples in Bulk

  • Stock up on organic frozen vegetables, bulk quinoa, lentils, and pantry spices

  • Thrive Market has an extensive range of in-house staples at lower prices

Alex from Frecker Farms encourages us to vote with our wallets and shop local organic for the healthiest produce.

Join a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)

  • Buy a seasonal share and get fresh, local produce delivered weekly — grown regeneratively, often with zero-waste packaging.

  • Try: Farm Fresh to You (LA) or Harlem Valley Homestead (NY)

Shop Your Local Farmers Market

  • Produce is picked just hours or days before — fresher, more flavorful, and more nutrient-dense than grocery store stock.

  • Find markets near you: USDA Local Food Portal

Avoid Whole Foods and Costco

  • Bezos doesn’t need your money and your body doesn’t need ultra-processed snacks

Don’t overspend on vitamins, protein powders and energy bars. Get bloodwork to determine real deficiencies and stock up at the Fullscript sale — 25% off from April 7-10 on vetted, safe products.

SHOP SUPPLEMENTS

Once your fridge and pantry are stocked, cook a meal with someone that you love. ❤️

Here’s my most requested recipe — which is more assembly than cooking.

I splurged on the regenerative salmon for this “Celia Bowl” but the base is frozen cauliflower rice, elevated with coconut, aromatics and some pretty plating.
