I love that Attia quote — as a decade+ CrossFitter I am thrilled that despite carrying more weight at present (#menopausefifteen) I am very strong. Thank you for sharing your journey.
It's a shocking statistic and one that is hard for anyone under 40 to fathom. We cannot imagine a time when our capacity will be diminished but we lose muscle and bone every year. Personally I feel like a badass at the gym when I go to pick up that 53lb kettlebell and the boys take a second look. I'm sure its the same for you at CrossFit!
Those metrics on hip injuries are terrifying! May we all be in solid health by 65! I was wondering though- can you recommend some actual fitness snacks for when you’re on the go? I find that in an effort to not eat badly when I travel, I wind up eating far less than I should. Do you have some go-to food snacks that you travel with?
Eating on the road is hard. I definitely ate less last weekend at the conference. I travel with small packs of pistachios and protein bars, but not ideal to eat packaged food. On the plane, I always pack my own food like hard boiled eggs, smoked salmon and slices of apple. Or a salad with chicken breast and I blend an avocado in the dressing or use tahini for some extra fat. Probably this topic is worth its own dedicated post.
